Interactive Design for Media
The Interactive Design for Media major is perfect for students interested in using graphics, animation, images, video, audio, mobile apps, etc. to tell captivating stories. This program combines courses in journalism and strategic communication, art and design, and coding to provide students with the creative and analytical skills to evolve with this ever-changing industry.
The media landscape is rapidly changing and there is a growing demand for interactive audiovisual media experiences, mobile application and video game production. Students in this program are exposed to the latest innovations in digital media to create visually stunning and timely interactive experiences.
Where You'll Work
This immersive program positions our students as future media developers and designers and as highly adaptive professionals who are able to acquire, practice and transfer evolving skill sets with ease. Professionals also serve as project managers who work with and coordinate visual designers, videographers, copywriters, programmers and developers. In addition, students can find employment as multimedia artists, interactive media developers/communicators, animators and web designers.
All coursework is done in the College’s modern facilities, giving students access to the latest digital technology and hands-on tools.
The WVU Reed College of Media hosts a variety of student organizations. These clubs offer students opportunities to engage in University activities and connect with other students and professionals nationwide. Students travel to conferences, visit top news agencies and firms, organize and participate in campus events, and network with alumni and industry leaders.
