The University of Nevada, Reno’s Integrated Marketing team is seeking a web content strategist. Reporting to the Project Manager within the University of Nevada, Reno’s Integrated Marketing team, the Web Content Strategist works with website analytics and key campus constituencies to streamline and continuously enhance the University’s homepage, top-level and high-traffic websites. Specializing in information architecture, content strategy and marketing-based writing, this position assists marketing colleagues in implementing web initiatives and social media efforts across the institution.
Candidate will strategize our top-level web presence, will make sure what we do is effective and will keep us in touch with industry best practices.
— Excellent writing: the short attention span of a web user isn’t going to wait around for weak writing to get to the point.
— Savvy information architecture: A National Tier 1 university is a complicated place and our content strategy needs to simplify it for our users.
— Project management: This position requires strategizing and planning initiatives with an extreme attention to detail.
— Web fluency: Must understand Web trends and best practices.
— Comfort with technology: Our ideal candidate can interact with developers to discuss semantic markup and decide between development approaches.
— Comfort with data: Must back up a strategy with real data from Google Analytics.
