Casting call for WVU marketing and communications projects

You’ve made the dean’s list, successfully navigated the PRT, taken your picture with the Mountaineer statue…looking for something else to make your WVU career complete? How about starring in a commercial—OR—having YOUR face on a WVU billboard!

Throughout the year, WVU develops many exciting marketing and communications projects— videos, slide shows and photo galleries, commercials, print and web publications. No matter where you are in your journey at WVU (from freshman to graduate/professional student), we hope you will participate! We especially encourage students from all racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds to help us showcase the diversity of our campus (all 55 WV counties, all 50 states, and over 100 countries!) A variety of students will be chosen to create a WVU talent pool for various projects. You are representing yourself! We encourage you to come as you are and tell about your unique WVU experiences.

Join us on Thursday, July 29th, any time between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the lobby of the Mountainlair (between the Information Desk and Hatfield’s). We’ll be the ones with the cameras!

POSITION SUMMARY 
This position will contribute to the planning, implementation, and execution of marketing objectives and initiatives designed to provide state-wide recognition of the Clay Center and its programs. Position will also serve as the day to day contact between the marketing and the development departments; will contribute to the planning, implementation, and execution of marketing objectives and initiatives for development programs; will coordinate the marketing strategies that enhance the brand and mission of the Clay Center to increase visibility and build a broader base of support and long-term relationships; write and edit publications; maintain and update documentation and reports; coordinate communication between internal departments and external vendors. The incumbent will work closely with the Chief Development Officer and development department managers as a partner in helping achieve fundraising goals.

NewsRadio 1020 KDKA seeks interns for promotions department

NewsRadio 1020 KDKA is seeking strong intern candidates to work in their promotions department during the fall semester and winter break. Candidates should have a background in communications, media, journalism, marketing or other relevant majors.

KDKA has several projects for the fall including our 27th Annual Spaghetti Breakfast, 90th Anniversary Celebration, partnership with Children’s Hospital and the KDKA Business Breakfast. Interns will work directly with the promotions director on the planning and implementation of these and other promotions at KDKA.

Job Description:
The National Journalism Center is a non-partisan, non-profit internships program in Washington, D.C. that places applicants in media internships, focusing on government and policy reporting. NJC offers 12-week paid internships (Spring, Summer and Fall) in Washington, DC. Internships are available in newspaper, magazine, television, radio and online.

In addition to real-world experience, interns are exposed to prominent DC journalists and public policy experts, as well as provided journalism training and participate in current event and public policy discussions. Students are exposed to new ideas and real newsroom environments, and interns are challenged to take advantage of the numerous opportunities available in Washington outside of their internship placements.

Paid $1000/Month stipend for duration of 12-week program (partial months will receive pro-rated stipends). The internship is a full-time position; program participants will spend between 30 to 35 hours a week on the job, then will attend a training seminar one day per week.
