Mountaineer Media Camp
What: Mountaineer Media Camp is a summer program for high school students sponsored by the West Virginia University Reed College of Media. Students participate in workshops to enhance their communication, photography, video and journalism skills, as well as improve their understanding of media in the modern world.
Who: High school students interested in journalism and media.
When: This year, the College will host two media camps—one with an emphasis on adventure and sports journalism and one with an emphasis on traditional journalism and new media.
• June 19 – 21, 2017, Adventure and Sports Media Camp
Students will have the opportunity to put their adventure video skills in action through a variety of hands-on activities.
• June 28-30, 2017, Traditional and New Media Camp
Students can participate in media camp where they will learn foundations of traditional journalism and new media concepts.
Cost and Lodging: Camp is $150 and includes two nights lodging in the WVU Towers Housing Complex on the Evansdale Campus. Meals will be included.
