Dr. Ahn’s research focuses on advertising appeals, brand management and media psychology. Her research articles have been published in journals including Marketing Letters, Computers in Human Behavior, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Services Marketing, Journal of Brand Management, Journal of Financial Services Marketing, and International Journal of e-Business Management. She also has presented her research at numerous conferences, including AEJMC, ICA, AAA, ACR, AMA, and SCP. Ahn was awarded the WVU Reed College of Media Inaugural Research Award in 2014 for her research performance.
She received her Ph.D. and master’s degree in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin. While at the University of Texas, Ahn was awarded the Tracy-Locke/Morris Hite Endowed Presidential Award. She received her bachelor of arts degree in mass communication from Chung-Ang University, Seoul, Korea, where she was awarded the University Scholarship as a top honor student.
Before pursuing her graduate degrees, Ahn worked at advertising agencies. She planned and conducted advertising campaigns for international and local companies in Korea, including Roche, SK Telecom and Hyundai Motors.
Ahn taught courses at the University of Texas at Austin. More recently, she has taught Principles of Advertising, Advertising Research and Advertising Media Analysis here at WVU.
